Union members have responded to over 40 calls for service within the last week. Those calls have included 2 significant mountain fires, several auto accidents including one with confinement, a search detail, miscellaneous fires, box alarms and our usual day to day calls.
Wednesday Utility 41 with a crew of 4 assisted with the very large mountain fire in South Hampton Township. Crews were on scene assisting for approximately 6 hours. This fire is still burning and is over 1000 acres in size. The station remained staffed and handled several calls. Wednesday was an 8 call day.
Yesterday Brush 41, Utility 41 and Tanker 41 with a total of 7 responded to a large mountain fire in Dickinson Twp in the area of Cold Springs Rd and Ridge Rd. The Crew was on scene of this fire for close to 10 hours before being released. This fire was over 200 acres in size. The station also remained staffed for this incident with 11 personnel who handled three additional calls. Thursday was a seven call day.
